Music to Ident

Our production company name for our thriller is T.E.F.T. We have decided that the music to accompany this would be music from mobygratis.com. We decided that the music we are going to use was going to be titled "not sensitive" Below are the screenshots of us requesting permission to be able to use the music and the confirmation of the request being sent.

Script

Settings - There are two locations which get used for the opening of the thriller. The first location is a shed, to portray the home/room of the antagonist, where he is planning what to do, it is a small, dim lighted room to portray that he is then antagonist.

The second location is a park where rest of the thriller opening takes place, and where the identity switch occurs. our particular part of the park where the filming will take place is like an elegant garden, there is a clear path where the look-a-like and boyfriend have there scene and where the look-a-like gets attacked by the antagonist. There are many places for the antagonist to hide and when filmed in the dark, it looks more dangerous and brings the suspense to a climax, makes the audience wonder what will happen, will she survive or die?

Characters - For the protagonist and the look-a-like (Ellie and Tina) the red jacket is symbolic because that is what distinguishes them as who they are therefore there is mistaken identity. Both characters are similar tall with long straight blonde hair, from behind they as the same person however the reality is they are not.

For the antagonist (Nyero) the item which distinguishes him is the ring which he is always wearing. He also wears a hood, which enforces a stereotype of all those who wear hoods are troublemakers. The friends of the look-a-like are just extras within the film however it is vital to have him, to drive the story forward.

Location

Our second locations is Central park, this is where the mistaken identity happens.

This is the hideout for the antagonist where he watches the happy couple (look-a-like and the boyfriend) having fun and eventually separate in different directions.

Filming

Our group decided that today was going to be the day that we were going to film. However, due to unseen circumstances we were unable to do so. This therefore meant, that we had to reschedule our filming to be done on a later date.

Music

Music which we have chosen so far is 'A Nightmare In London' by Shredda, it is a non-copyright instrumental; below is a taster of the instrumental. We have an idea of using multiple instrumentals, for different parts of the thriller because in professional film this is what they do.

Vox Pops

Another way of audience research is Vox Pops, originally known as Vox Popli which means the voice of the people.

From the vox pops I have found out, that those who were in or around their twenties, go to the cinema more however do not tend to see the techniques which are within the film, however they like the suspense and shock which is within the films which they tend to see. Those who were in there thirties or above appreciated every aspect which is used to create an amazing thriller.

Our thriller which is called Mistaken Identity will target those who are in or around their twenties; this is because our film is about young adults who were in a relationship however jealousy took over and this resulted in a mishap.

Sound for Mistaken Identity

Mobygratis.com is a site where music can be found and used because it is non-copyright. This is the site where my group tried getting our music from. Florida tried to find music which would work with our thriller, however was unsuccessful. If we are unsuccessful again we will try a different site for the instrumental for our thriller.

Shaft

Shaft which was released in 1971 was the first mainstream film of a black African-American director and star. This film goes from the general to the particular, which is a subway where the protagonist emerges, the camera makes him look powerful because it is a low angle shot; this establishes the character as dominant, another way of him being dominant he walks through the streets of traffic with no care. The titles which are used in Shaft are red which symbolises destruction, danger, blood and passion. The music is another big factor of any film, the music which was used for Shaft got an award for best music in 1972.

Seven

The film Seven, has an effective title sequence which has influenced and inspired many while they are making visuals for their products; the film 'The Ring' has been influenced by 'Seven' we, the audience can see elements which are similar. It is a disturbing opening because of the eery sound and the way the font is presented. The font continuously flickers throughout the title sequence, this also unsettles the audience and gives them an dea of what the rest of the film will be like.

Thrller Titles

After the IDENT use a FADE IN. The titles should then be in the following order:
(1) 'Your Production Company' Presents
(2) A Film by 'One name - usually the director'
(3) Starring or With
(4) Male star
(5) Female star or other way round
(6) Title of film - or could be at the end
(7) Also starring - 2/3/names - each on separate title
(8) Then 3/4/5 of the following - you choose - each on separate title
Editing
Music
Cinematography or Director of Photography
Casting
Set Designer
Costume Designer
Script
(9) Then Producer(s) - can be more than one
(10) Always finish with Director - one name, usually the same as A Film By ...
(11) Could put title here
Remember to use LiveType and try to make titles interesting. They can be either over black or superimposed over your film. Space them out over the two minutes of the film.Give the audience plenty of time to read the titles.
(12) Finish with a fade out & fade music out

Shadow of A Doubt

There is classical music playing right from the beginning which is based upon merry widow. The costumes are glamour of the past. Then a dissolve is used to go into an industrial landscape which is rundown and poor environment/atmosphere. The music changes with the transition from classical to sinister music.

The camera slowly goes from a rundown city, to a poor street, into a hostel where Uncle Charlie is smoking a cigar, wearing a suit and we, there is money all over the room; he does not fit the scene/environment that he is in. Uncle Charlie comes alive in the dark, when the landlady closes the blind, a shadow goes across his face and sinister music starts to play, informing us that he is the antagonist.

Then we see his niece Charlie who is in a happy, civilised atmosphere, she is lying on the bed similar position as Uncle Charlie. Charlie and Uncle Charlie are similar however their personalities are completely opposite. It is good protagonist Charlie verses bad antagonist Uncle Charlie.

The suspense within the film is Charlie does not know that her Uncle is a murderer. What will happen? What will be the effect of this?
